The Boat

Built in Bayville, NJ by the Henriques Family, the 44' Sportfisherman's uniquely strong construction includes a time-proven hull design with solid fiberglass bottom, hand laid fiberglass construction, a hull fiber-glassed to a one-piece deck mold, continuous bulkhead tabbing, watertight compartments and full-length bow to stern stringers.  In plain words, she's built like a battleship. Henriques' reputation is summed up thusly: "The Boats the Pros Use".  I can swear to her sea-worthiness as I've put Jack's boats to the test many times in the offshore canyons!

The boat, formerly the 'Reel One' (was owned by Penn Reels), is a 1987 model. It was repowered in 1999 with Cummins 450 motors. I purchased it in 2004 and since then, put in almost as much money as I paid for her in improvements, updates, etc. I've long ago stopped publishing the 'before' pictures, but suffice to say betwen cosmetics, electronics and drivetrain maintenance the boat is everything I've ever wanted. And...the 'last' boat I'll ever own, as I paid her off and can offer you the finest fishing platform in the world.

She chunks in 'sporty' seas like a champ; she runs through 3-5' seas without a bump; and the cockpit offers all six anglers the chance to fish side by side. Suffice to say, I'm very proud of her.
