Fluke/Sea Bass/Blackfish
A perennial favorite, you'll have a nice day enjoying the sun and views of the beaches as we hit the fluke producing spots. This is a great day which will allow you plenty of time to relax, enjoy your lunch,
get some sun, etc. We may be right off Manasquan with the fleet, or north & south depending on where they're biting.
Bring the kids for these trips, as anyone can be a champ fishing for these flatties! Sea
Bass & Blackfish are added attractions at rocky areas or around wrecks and have been plentiful the past couple of seasons!
We'll leave the dock as early as you like & have
you back with your catch cleaned & bagged in 8 hours.

Here's Chris Alaimo with an 8.5lb bluefish
taken on 8lb tippet, no wire leader! |
Bluefish
This species, which is so easy to catch most times, can be downright tricky at others.
(But our customers know we've got the secret potion, don't we?) We may troll them, jig them or have to chunk 'em in order to get their attention. When you get into a good Bluefish bite, your arms will be weary from cranking them in!
If so, we may suggest that you consider breaking up the day with some bottom fishing (Fluke & sea bass) for a change of pace.
We'll leave the dock as early as you like & have
you back with your catch cleaned & bagged in 8 hours.

Here's a 35 pounder!

Striped Bass
The last few seasons been unbelievable as far as the Striped
Bass fishery being healthy. I haven't seen it so strong since I was a
youngster in a tin-boat on the Raritan Bay. We may employ wire-line
trolling techniques, pulling shad-bars and umbrella rigs. Once you find
the colors they like, these methods have been deadly! Or we may be using
monofilament line with diving rigs, which will make it more sporty to
fight the Stripers. Lastly, if the Stripers are interested in "meat"
only, we'll oblige them by feeding menhaden (moss bunker) chunks to
them, really giving you the chance to feel them "hit" or hook u up with
livies...fun stuff!
Since 'traffic' is bad for Striper fishing, when we target them, we'd leave the dock as early as you
can & have
you back with your catch cleaned & bagged in 8 hours.
Inshore Troll
2008 marked a nice return with great success on inshore Bluefin & Mahi-Mahi catches.
The Mahi in the pic? Caught less than 26 miles from shore!Additionally, we can ratchet-down to lighter tackle and have loads of fun with Skipjacks & False Albacore.
We'll have everything from 30lb light tackle to 50lb gold Penn's ready! We will generally leave the dock before sunrise if you are amenable. This way we may grab the "early bite" in the morning, perhaps giving us our limit and allowing us to try different areas during the rest of your charter.
We'd prefer to leave the dock for these trolls by 3 or 4 a.m., since we
may have to steam a bit to get to the fishing grounds & it's nice to hit the
spots first! Usually we're running to the East side of the Mudhole
or the Glory Hole, but to hit the Texas Tower, Bacardi-Bedevind area or
Triple Wrecks, you're looking at an additional three hours of run time
back and forth, so let's plan on a longer day!
Shark Trips
Overnight
Shark Trip + plus $100/hr
2008 was a great year for sharking! We had some days with
multiple Mako tags & quite a few harvested. But even the Blue Sharks
will keep you busy! Key here is underwater "structure" which may be wrecks, fathom (depth) lines, etc. over which we will drift with the wind and current. We look to draw the sharks' attention with buckets of fresh caught & frozen chum. Our chum slicks can wind for miles on a windy day, and you'll have throngs of sea birds picking through the surface slick looking for a free meal . . . as well as Bluefin Tuna, Mahi-Mahi! We'll suspend special shark tackle, consisting of wire or cable leaders and very large hooks buried inside whole mackerel, whole squids or strips of bluefish or menhaden. When you get one of these toothy critters on your line...watch out!
Here again, we'd like to leave the dock as early as
possible. Your trip will last 8-10 hours.
